Innovations in Just-in-Time Adaptive Interventions for Mental Health

Mental health issues are highly prevalent across the world. Yet, access to timely and effective treatment remains a challenge for many individuals, in part due to barriers such as stigma, a shortage of mental health professionals, financial costs, time constraints, and lack of transportation. Innovations in digital health technologies offer promising solutions to these challenges by expanding the reach and accessibility of mental health interventions. The just-in-time intervention (JITAI) is a relatively new and promising intervention design where digital technologies are leveraged to provide personalized support in moments when individuals need them most, with the goals of reducing burden and mitigating barriers to care. This symposium aims to present recent and on-going innovations in JITAIs for mental health.
