About Walter Dempsey
Walter Dempsey is a faculty member at the d3center, where he develops statistical methods to support adaptive and personalized health interventions. His work spans experimental design for multi-stage decision-making, analysis of intensive longitudinal data, and modeling of dynamic social interactions. His recent research focuses on decision-support systems for mobile health and intervention optimization. Dr. Dempsey collaborates closely with other d3center faculty on projects involving SMARTs, MRTs, and reinforcement learning. He earned his PhD in Statistics at the University of Chicago and completed a postdoctoral fellowship under Susan Murphy at Harvard.
