About Ziping Xu
Ziping Xu is an Assistant Professor in the School of Data and Information Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before joining UNC, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Statistics at Harvard University, working with Susan Murphy. He obtained his PhD in Statistics from the University of Michigan, advised by Ambuj Tewari, and his B.S. in Data Science from Peking University. His research explores data-driven decision making, reinforcement learning in particular, with applications to digital interventions such as mobile health. He is actively involved in designing reinforcement-learning-powered digital intervention solutions for real mobile health clinical trials.
